CITY OF GEM LAKE, MN <br />4200 Otter Lake Road <br />Gem Lake, MN 55110-3227 <br />Telephone 651-747-2790 <br />E-mail CitvQeemlakeMN.org <br />Minutes of Gem Lake City Council Meeting <br />17 November 2009. <br />The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Gem Lake was called to <br />order by Mayor Uzpen on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 7:0.0 pm in the Gem <br />Lake City Hall meeting room. <br />The following members were present: Mayor Robert Uzpen, Counciimembers <br />Gretchen Artig-Swomiey, Thomas. Rasmussen, Charles Watson and James <br />Lindner. Other members of the public were also in attendance per the sign in <br />sheet sent around the room. <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND MEETING MINUTES <br />City Council Agenda: Mayor Uzpen called for additions, deletions and <br />corrections to the agenda. No corrections were made. Upon motion by <br />Councilmember Artig-Swomley, and seconded by Councilmember Rasmussen, <br />the agenda was approved for November 17, 2009. Ayes — 5, Nays — 0. <br />City Council Meeting Minutes: The October 19, 2009 minutes were presented <br />and corrections were needed. Upon motion by Councilmember Lindner, and <br />seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, the minutes of October 19, 2009 <br />were accepted with corrections being made. Ayes — 5, Nays — 0. <br />Special City Council Meeting Minutes: A Special City Council meeting was <br />held the end of October 2009. Upon motion by Councilmember Lindner and <br />seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomley the Special City Council minutes <br />were approved. Ayes — 5, Nays — 0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />City Newsletter — December 2009: The Council discussed ideas for the <br />December newsletter. Councilmember Artig-Swomley stated that so far she has <br />a story on the budget and the Public Hearing, a story on the Public Hearing for <br />the road assessment for Scheuneman Road. In addition, she will do a story on <br />converting the newsletter to electronic. She has also started working on a story <br />interviewing Gem Lake's older residents about Highway 61 and how it became a <br />straighter road. A story on the recycling program and how the new way will make <br />Gem Lake greener and if the citizens utilize the program, they can lower their <br />
