City of Gem Lake City Council meeting minutes, Thursday, November 19, 2015 Page 1 <br /> <br />City of Gem Lake <br /> Special City Council Meeting – November 19, 2015 <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Uzpen called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmembers Bosak, Kuny, and Lindner were <br />present. Councilmember Artig-Swomley was absent/excused. Others in attendance: City Engineer, <br />Justin Gese; City Attorney Patrick Kelly, City Finance Director Tom Kelly, residents/members of the <br />community; Paul Emeott, Greg Martz AM-PM/Martz Enterprises, Jack Mayeron Barnett Companies, Deb <br />and Pete Oswald. <br /> <br />November 19, 2015, Agenda <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Jim Lindner, seconded by Councilmember Bosak to accept the <br />agenda. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Minutes <br />None. <br /> <br />Committee Reports <br />None. <br /> <br />Old Business <br />None. <br /> <br /> <br />New Business <br />Justin Gese, City Engineer, gave a brief overview of Phase I and Phase II of the project. <br /> <br />Public Hearing – Water Assessment Hearing for businesses on Hoffman Road and Scheuneman Road <br /> <br />Mayor Uzpen called the public hearing to order at 7:07 p.m. Greg Martz, AM/PM- Martz Enterprises, <br />3636 Scheuneman Road asked “Where does access for the water stop? I’m being assessed for <br />something I can’t use? It doesn’t make it to my property? What would be the cost to run the water to <br />my property? It would have been nice to get some kind of mapping with the notice.” <br /> <br />Justin Gese response: In order to run water further up Scheuneman Road, a cost accounting would have <br />to be untaken. <br /> <br />Council advised Mr. Martz to make an inquiry with his neighbor business owners as to whether or not <br />they want to have water access to their properties and to bring that information back to the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />Jack Mayeron, Barnett Companies, 3610/3700 Highway 61, “I thought that both of our buildings New <br />Trax and Barnett would have access to the water.” <br /> <br />Councilmember Bosak – “A pipe could be run within your own property, with the understanding that if <br />water ran up Scheuneman Road you would disconnect and hook into the City service.”
