City Council of the City of Gem Lake was called to <br />order by Mayor Uzpen on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the Gem <br />Lake City Hall meeting room. <br />The following members were present: Mayor Robert Uzpen, Councilmembers <br />Gretchen Artig-Swomley, Thomas Rasmussen, and James Lindner. Other <br />members of the public attended per the sign in sheet sent around the room. <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND MEETING MINUTES <br />City Council Agenda: Mayor Uzpen called for additions, deletions and <br />corrections to the agenda. No corrections were made. Upon motion by <br />Councilmember Lindner, and seconded by Councilmember Rasmussen, the <br />agenda was approved for January 19, 2010. Ayes — 4, Nays — 0 <br />City Council December Meeting Minutes: The December, 2009 minutes were <br />presented and corrections were needed. Upon motion by Councilmember <br />Lindner, and seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, the minutes of <br />December 2009 were accepted with corrections being made. Ayes — 4, Nays <br />0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />City Newsletter — February 2010: Councilmember Artig-Swomley needs ideas <br />for the February newsletter_ She had a few suggestions including a list of <br />general goals for the City of Gem Lake for 2010, and review the results of the. <br />water testing. Also suggested was an interview with Bev Scalze, State <br />Representative. A Valentine's Day story on how the residents met, ages 20 — 80. <br />Mayor Uzpen brought a sample copy of White Bear Lake's application for a <br />scholarship so that Gem Lake may start a program like that. Also mentioned <br />were the sports complex in Vadnais Heights and the census in March 2010. <br />Local Water Management Plan: The City Council has not received much <br />feedback from the residents on where the in-flow/out-flow exists on properties. It <br />was suggested that maybe a better description of what an in-flow/out-flow is and <br />what to look for. The Council needs the in flow/out flows for the May S4 report. <br />
