Assuming you already have a bituminous driveway or concrete
driveway, these would be replaced in kind as part of the
project. If it's necessary to damage any of the sod adjacent
to the existing road, that sod will also be put back in as
part of the project, at no special cost to you adjacent home-
owners. If we have to do some shaping of your yards or
driveways, routinely back as far as your property line, that
also is included. There are some driveways that exist that
donlt meet the City standards, where there is some parking
in boulevards, etc., we would go talk to the property owners
involved and work out the best possible solution to solving
those problems within the City Code limitations. This is a
lot that came at you fairly fast and if you have questions
later, that's understandable, but I thought if we could go
through it once, it would maybe save a lot of uncertainties
for you later.

The first project under discussion tonight is Oxford
Street from Brooks Avenue down almost to County Road B. As
the people in the neighborhood know, the extreme southern
portion was already paved a few years ago, near County Road
B-2, when that improvement was done in the neighborhood for
those homes. Again, this proposal would be to convert the
roadway that's about 28 feet wide now. The pavement is in
fair to poor condition, depending on where you are. It has
some fairly flat grades at one end and approximately five
percent grades at the other end. The driveways are not too
bad; however, there is one driveway that slopes away from
the street towards the home and at least one other one that's
up to approximately nine percent. We'd do what we could to
improve this condition, but obviously we can't take a
driveway that's nine percent steep and turn it into one
that's almost flat.

This project was petitioned for by the property owners,
with a representation of 80% of the people along the roadway
signing this petition. The proposal would be to put a
standard roadway in, which is seven ton, asphalt pavement,
32 feet wide, centered in the right-of-way, and as close as
possible to match the existing grades.

ACTING MAYOR JOHNSON: I might suggest, just to speed
things up at this point, are there any questions as to the
general description of how tnese determinations are made?

WOMAN IN AUDIENCE: That road doesn't appear to be that
bad.

ACTING MAYOR JOHNSON: We'll get to the specific roads
one by one. I was just wondering if there were any general
questions now as to the materials that were presented.
Please state your name.

-3-
