REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br /> DATE: 021 14100 <br /> ITEM NO: G-2 <br /> a tment Approval: Manager Approved: Agenda Section: <br /> RECOGNITION <br /> Item Description: City of Roseville,2000 Home and Garden Fair: <br /> Resolution of Anureciation <br /> 1.0 BACKGROUND <br /> 1 1 On February S, 2000, the City of Roseville, held the fourth annual Home and Garden <br /> Fair, at the Fairview Community Center. The Fair has become increasingly popular with <br /> both exhibitors and the general public. This popularity is due in large part to the many <br /> hours volunteers have dedicated toward the effort to professionalize the Fair by making it <br /> informative and fun for the attendees as well as profitable for the exhibitors. <br /> 1.2 This year the Home and Garden Committee started planning the Fair in April 1999. The <br /> result of the ongoing efforts for the 2000 Home and Garden Fair produced 46 exhibit <br /> booths, with an attendance by the public of over 1000. <br /> 1 3 The Committee consists of the following: <br /> Mary Bender, North Star Bank <br /> Lynnae LeBarron, Roseville Senior Program <br /> Polly Heaton, Fairview Community Center <br /> Kathy Deland, Lillie Suburban Newspapers <br /> Karen Stimpson, Harriet Alexander Nature Center <br /> Jim Justin, Manager, Lyndale Garden Center <br /> Cathy Bennett and Pat Morrison, Corn. Dev. Dept., Roseville <br /> 2.0 STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br /> 2.1 The staff recommends that the Council acknowledge the efforts of all the volunteers that <br /> participated in the 2000 Home and Garden Fair by approving a resolution thanking the <br /> volunteers for the many hours dedicated to the success of the Fair. <br /> 3.0 SUGGESTED CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br /> 3.1 By resolution extend the City's appreciation and gratitude to all the volunteers who <br /> participated in the 2000 Roseville Home and Garden Fair. <br />
