REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> DATE: 2125/00 <br /> ITEM NO.: E-2 <br /> Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br /> Organizational Business <br /> Item Description: Advisory Commission Reappointments/Appointments <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The following are the Advisory Commission members whose terms will expire on March 3 1, 2000. <br /> According to their length of service, these members are eligible for reappointment to an additional <br /> term: <br /> Name Commission Length of Service <br /> Thomas Ring Ethics Unexpired term <br /> Steven Smith Human Rights Unexpired term <br /> Mary vidas Human Rights Unexpired term <br /> Donald Anderson, Chair Parks and Recreation Two terms <br /> Marilyn Pearson Florian Parks and Recreation Unexpired term <br /> Ruth Gruver Parks and Recreation One term <br /> John Rhody Planning One term <br /> Bob King will complete his maximum three full, three year terms on the Police Civil Service <br /> Commission on March 31, 2000. Therefore, the Council may begin the process for filing vacant <br /> positions. <br /> Written comments from the Chair of each commission regarding reappointment have been received. <br /> Attendance records of each commission member eligible for reappointment are attached. The <br /> Council may determine eligibility for reappointment based on attendance and other factors as <br /> deemed relevant. Staff will then contact those eligible for reappointment to determine whether they <br /> wish to serve an additional term. Commission members are limited to the following terms: <br /> Ethics Commission three, three-year terms <br /> Human Rights Commission three, three-year terms <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission three, three-year terms <br /> Police Civil Service Commission three, three-year terms <br /> Planning Commission two, four-year terms <br />
