Plymouth. Mere was city hall? was the community building the city center; <br /> parking problems; senior building not on site and not well planned; city, school <br /> Life-Tine partnership; no small child admittance; need to take advantage of <br /> shared parking; be careful of public/private partnerships—get even treatment; <br /> seniors wanted separated site from activity,retail (Cub), movie theatre, fast food <br /> in area; located near major thoroughfares; private development activity wants <br /> traffic and visibility. <br /> d. Minnetonka. Civic center only; seniors and city hall together; hockey and <br /> "Marsh" fitness site; no walking access to neighborhood; isolated; water and <br /> decking were beautiful; deg training facility; site isolation. <br /> e. Chaska. Has traditional city center and a community center adjacent to schools— <br /> not near downtown; must drive to the facility; no community around it; <br /> continuous add-on facility. Poor parking; on a mid-Saturday it was hardy used. <br /> Theatre-auditorium art display center. Trying to build adjacent to neighborhood. <br /> f. Chaska Downtown. Small town Minnesota with town square; could be placed in <br /> a Roseville park or city center; decorative amenities; Highway 212 cuts through <br /> site; nice main street. <br /> g. Prior Lake-Dakota Fitness Center. owned and operated by Dative American <br /> community; City of Prior Lake has access to it; was it a city center for Native <br /> American community or meeting space?Discovery Zone was private operating <br /> firm for child care drop-ins; emphasis on buildings; isolated from everything; <br /> shooting range along with recreation center. <br /> h. Edinborough. Too dense, too high, least used facility; the city center was too <br /> dense life big glitz hotel with lobby; not easily connected but two separate <br /> projects; playground and skating amenities are used by small kids, mothers, <br /> seniors; summer use was less—mostly a winter activity center; closed off to rest <br /> of Edina community—will not unify the con niunity; should be next to S outhdale; <br /> liked tennis and golf greens. Centennial Lakes in summer—active; in winter as <br /> skating rink; retail is adjacent to residential; built for users of area; very unnatural; <br /> lots of concrete, engineered spaces. <br /> 1. 0" and France. Lighting great; active! Two city personalities; street level retail <br /> and housing above; needs multiple stories to be financially feasible; need <br /> public/private partnership; traffic congestion! <br />
