i C o als <br /> The goals of this project are to create a public private partnership in which the city leases <br /> land to the developer for the construction and management of buildings and facilities for <br /> private sector uses, business, and educational opportunities and activities. These "park <br /> complimentary" uses are to provide an additional set of assets to the parr and make the <br /> ark "'more better than a typical neighborhood park", offering more and higher quality <br /> features that would appeal to more of the neighborhood. bent and/or property taxes from <br /> this project would be used to expand or enhance and properly manage the City's <br /> investment in the park amenities. Private sector concepts sought by the City include (but <br /> are not limited to) better ways of providing parr safety through "eyes on the parr", <br /> intergenerational activities such as child and senior programs and care; 4 season indoor <br /> and outdoor use and neighborhood meeting space; areas for educational classes, arts, and <br /> history displays and studios; passive and active activities; supportive or complimentary <br /> retail activity such as an ice creme and/or coffee shop, and, integration of the parr design <br /> into the Civic Parkway (Lexington). The estimated area of the park complimentary use is <br /> to be approximately 2 acres and could include shared features with the park such as <br /> plazas} parking and green space. Construction must begin no later June 17 2000. <br /> Go P artici ation <br /> The City will participate in the development of this city owned site with long term land <br /> leases, long terra low interest public improvements assessed to the private sector site, and <br /> potential partial grants for landscaping, lighting, and public walkway and parking <br /> improvements. <br /> 2 <br />
