REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION DATE: +1/11/9 9 ITEM NO-E F_ Department Approval; Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: Reports & Recommendations Item Description: Authorization to Enter into Contract for Operation of the Concession Stands at the Roseville Skating Center. BACKGROUND During the planning process for the development of the Community Room at the Roseville Skating Center, staff has discussed with the City Council the possibility of contracting out the operation of the concession stands with a private vendor. The concession stand in the Arena was contracted prior to the construction of the OVAL. Staff advertised for responses to this proposal (see attached RFB) and received two proposals: Suzanne' s Cuisine JAIL concessions Based on the financial proposal, experience and the fact that Suzanne's Cuisine has previously been selected as the exclusive caterer at the Skating Center, the recommendation is to contract with Suzanne's cuisine for this service. Suzanne's Cuisine operates the concessions for the Eagle valley Golf Course in Woodbury. The level of service and hours of operation are specified in the RFP and will be so listed in the contract. POLICY OBJECTIVE The proposal is consistent with the polio of providing the best possible service at the lowest cost to citizens and contracting out services where these goals can be met. The past history of contracting these services supports this proposal. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS The agreed upon contractual arrangements include the following: 1. RSC will receive 10% of all gross revenues. 2. Suzanne's Cuisine (SC) will be responsible for all operating costs including labor and merchandise. 3. RSC will retain the rights to all vending machine revenues. Similar accounting procedures as those used . the catering service will be used for the in concession operations.
