WORK SESSION AGENDA ITEM No 3 <br /> FIREFIGHTER,s ASSOCIATION <br /> 2701 forth Lexington Avenue <br /> Roseville, Minnesota 5511 <br /> Steve Sarkozy, City Manager July 20, 1998 <br /> 2660 Civic Center Drive <br /> Roseville, MST 55113 <br /> REQUEST TO BE PLACED ON THE AUGUST 4, 98 COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br /> AGENDA AND ON THE AUGUST 24, 1998 COUNCIL NMETING AGENDA <br /> Dear Steve: <br /> As you may already be aware, the Actuarial valuation for the Plan Year 1998 <br /> indicates that the City Requirement amount established to fund the $23.00 benefit is <br /> sufficient to fund an increase at the level of$25.00 per month for each year of service, or <br /> $2,500 lump sum for each year of service, <br /> The Board hereby requests placement on the Monday, August 4, 1 9957 Council <br /> Work Session agenda to discuss increasing the benefit to the 25 level and placement on <br /> the Tuesday, August 24, 1998, Council Meeting agenda for a decision on the matter. <br /> Attached for your review are copies of 1 the letter to the Council members <br /> regarding the Board's request for an increase to the $25 level; (2)the Board"s <br /> certification of the 1 999 Financial Requirements for this Benefit Increase to the level, <br /> pursuant to Minn. tat. 69,773, Subd. 5; (3) a proposed Council Resolution in materially <br /> the same language and form as Resolution loo. 9486; and 4 the proposed Relief <br /> Association Board Resolution Igo.98-02. <br /> Please notify the Board of the approximate time scheduled for the Board to appear <br /> before the Council.
