Pursuant to the Actuarial valuation for the Plan Year 1998, performed by Deleitte Touche# LL R, dated July 1998, the Board of Directors and Officers of the Relief Association have determined that the budgeted City Requirement amount established for the $23.00 benefit is sufficient to fund a further benefit i t i n rease to $25.00 per month for each year of service, or $2,500 lump sum for each year of service. The Board is pleased at the prospect of this win-win opportunity for the firefighters and the City. Attached for your review is (1) a Board certification of the 1999 Financial Requirements for a Benefit Increase to the $25 level, pijrsuant to Minn.Stat. 69,773, ubd. 5, (2) a proposed Council Resolution in inaterially the same language and form as Resolution 1' o. 94861, and (3) proposed Relief Association Board Resolution No. 8-02- The Board has requested placement on the August 4, 1998, Council work session agenda to discuss this matter and answer any questions you may have and placement on the August 24, 1998, Council meeting agenda.
