Exercise Option with St. Paul Water Utility for Waterworks/Cemetery <br /> Property <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> In 1997, the City of Roseville entered into an agreement with the St. Paul Water Utility for <br /> the purchase of land at the water utility site bordering Dale St. Included in that agreement <br /> was an option to purchase an additional 13.53 acres of land. In 1 998, Ramsey Counter <br /> agreed to eater into an agreement with the City of Roseville whereby Ramsey County <br /> would contribute $250,000 to purchase this land from the St. Paul Water Utility for parr <br /> purposes. The proposed project is for the City of Roseville to exercise the option to <br /> purchase the additional 1 3.53 acres of land as per the proposed master plan for the parr. <br /> POLICY OBJECTIVE <br /> The proposed project is consistent with the polio of utilizing cooperative relationships in <br /> providing recreational spaces and reducing any duplication of public investment and is <br /> consistent with the recommendations of the Parrs and Recreation Infrastructure <br /> Committee. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPLICATION <br /> The agreement has no financial impact on the city since Ramsey county has entered into <br /> an agreement with the city to contribute the $250,000 payment. <br /> STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br /> Based on the recommendations of the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Parrs <br /> and Recreation Infrastructure Committee, staff recommends that the City of Roseville <br /> exercise the option with the St. Paul water Utility to purchase an additional 13.53 acres <br /> of lard for park purposes. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br /> Motion authorizing the Mayor and city Manager to eater into an agreement with the St. <br /> Paul Dater Utility to purchase an additional 13.53 acres of land for park purposes using <br /> the 50r ooh payment from Ramsey Counter to pay for the purchase. <br />
