Those items will <br /> be done either in-house or through a more economical contracting service. <br /> The Parks and Recreation commission held a neighborhood meeting on March 4 to <br /> discuss the proposed developments. Some of the neighbors requested that the boardwalk <br /> trail and the small trail head parking lot off of Arthur street, shown on the Master Plan, be <br /> eliminated from the Master Plan. This item is not part of the current project. A second <br /> neighborhood meeting was held on 111lay 5 and the Parks and Recreation commission <br /> unanimously recommended that these two items be eliminated from the master plan. <br /> Some of the neighbors also requested that the grater flow into the north section of the lake <br /> r <br /> be improved. This is also not part of this project. The Engineering Department has made <br /> a na re l i m i review of this item and has stated that to remove or lower the pipe would oast <br /> p rY <br /> several hundred thousand dollars. The Parks and recreation Commission has <br /> recommended that if the Council is interested in this request from the neighbors that <br /> moneys be appropriated for a consultant to study the issue and recommend a solution with <br /> cost estimates. <br /> In April, the City submitted a grant to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources <br /> Outdoor Recreation Program. We recently received notice that the city was awarded a <br /> $50,000 rant for the project.
