Appendix A-8
To: The City of Roseville
From: Mike Schneider
1490 Centennial Dr.
Roseville, MN 55 113
(651) 636-2209
ATTN: Mayor, City Councilpersons, Planning Commissioners, Staff
Re: 1) Request for Planning Commission Action
(a) Request by the City Of Roseville to amend the Comprehensive
Land Use Map Designation. . . (PF 3243)
(b) A request by the City of Roseville to receive Phase I concept
approval for redevelopment at the Arona site (at 2800 Arona
Street); and approval to rezone from B-I. . . (PF 3243)
2) Summary of Arona/Hamfine Neighborhood Master Plan Components
Discussion with Roseville City Council and Mayor
Dear Mr. Mayor, Councilpersons, Planning Commissioners and Staff:
JI
have carefully reviewed the foregoing documents 1 (a), I (b) and
2. Despite attending each of the meetings and personally providing input
at each of the meetings regarding this Arona site and carefully listening
to other inputs from my neighbors and the Roseville Recreation Staff, I am
frankly surprised and seriously concerned that the following items, though
repeatedly discussed, did not find their way into any of the documents,
namely 1 (a), I (b) nor 2. The omitted significant factors are:
1) Certain neighbors who have lived on Centennial Drive for a
substantial period of time and my wife and I have attended combined
virtually all of the Planning Commission and City Council meetings
for rezoning and development of the many tracts of land East of
Centennial Drive and West and South of Centennial Drive. At
virtually every such rezoning meeting (Planning Commission and
City Council) we have asked the question:
"WHERE ARE THE GREEN SPACES AID PLAY AREAS FOR TENS
PROJECT?° ?"
