Appendix A-8
4) The desires and input from the Arona site neighbors do not appear
to be fairly represented nor even discussed in the documents 1 (a),
1 (b)fwr2. THE QVf&WH"b& NEIGHBORHOOD DESIRE WITH
RESPECT TO THE ARONA SITE IS TO COMIM THE ONGCNNG USE
OF THE PROPERTY AS A NEIG14BORHOOD PARR FOR THE SURROUNDING
AREA.
Use of this Arona Property as a dedicated park would meet the many
decades of promises to the citizens of Roseville surrounding this now
densely populated area : that, indeed, Ralph Reeder School Property,
should continue to be the green/play area as promised. This densely
populated area has no proximate usable park other than the Arona area.
This Arona area is subjected to jptgpgg in moderate climate
conditions and moderate use even in intense cold periods. (There have
been significant touch/flag football games throughout the winter months.)
The green space/play area has been an ongoing green space/play
area for more than thirty-two (32) continuous years. Indeed, there can
not be many tracts of land affording such availability of park space
in Roseville. There must be serious consideration for the continuing use
of this Arona site for park space.
We have seen tremendous development of the space around the Arona
site. Any ! in the long-term use of the Arona area must be reviewed
in view of the foregoing discussion. It is clear that those issues which
are contra to the planned use of the Arona site have been conspicuously,
intentionally, omitted from documents 1 (a), 1 (b) and 2; hence the Mayor,
Councilpersons and Planning Commission would not be aware of the long
term use and covenant given at the many hearings for the use of the Arona
site for permanent green space/play area.
It is our humble expectation that you will now give the foregoing
consideration; and that you will honor the substantial long term
covenant from the Planning Commission and the Mayor/City Council
that the Ralph Reeder School site continue to be the play area for this now
densely populated area.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Phones: (651) 636-2209 (home)
(651) 260 -8121 (cell)
Thank you for your consideration.
Yours very truly.
Mike e" e
le
