REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL <br /> 2004106 WINTER NATIONAL SENIOR GAMES - <br /> THE SENIOR OLYMPICS <br /> SECTION I <br /> ABOUT THE NSGA <br /> The NSGA is: <br /> A not-for-profit organization dedicated to motivating senior men and women to lead a <br /> healthy lifestyle through the senior games movement. <br /> The organization that governs the Summer National Senior Games — The Senior Olympics <br /> and the Winter National Senior Games + The Senior Olympics. These national competitions <br /> are held during odd-numbered and even-numbered years, respectively. <br /> A national umbrella for 50 member state organizations across the United States that host <br /> State Senior Games or State Senior Olympics. The NSGA supports and sanctions these <br /> member state organizations, located in 49 states (excluding Alaska) plus the District of <br /> Columbia. <br /> A community-based member of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), serving as <br /> one of the USOC's official arms to the senior population. <br /> A national association that works with state and federal agencies, educational institutions <br /> and corporate America to better understand and support healthy aging initiatives for <br /> seniors. <br /> An organization that partners with national leaders committed to senior health, wellness and <br /> medical care. Seeking ways to maintain and improve senior health are common goals of , <br /> the NSGA and its sponsors. <br /> Mission Statement <br /> The National Senior Games Association is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to <br /> promoting healthy lifestyles for seniors through education, fitness and sports. Through its <br /> programs, the NSGA assists seniors in achieving greater value and quality in their lives by staying <br /> healthy, active and fit. <br /> Vision Statement <br /> The National Senior Games Association strives to be the premier organization in the world <br /> supporting senior athletes. The NSGA commits to support all seniors interested in living a healthier <br /> lifestyle.
