B. <br /> March 25, 2002 Roseville City Council <br /> Topic: Review of Court ordered redistricting plan <br /> Item#: <br /> Description: Presentation of Minnesota Court's recommendation for Legislative <br /> redistricting <br /> On March 19, 2002 at 1 pm, the Office of the Appellate Courts adopted a Congressional <br /> and Legislative redistricting plan. Provided that the plan is not challenged in court, it <br /> would affect Roseville in the following manner: <br /> Roseville remains in the 4t' US Congressional district with Representative Betty <br /> McCollum as the sole incumbent. <br /> Roseville remains in a substantially redrawn State Senate district, maintaining the <br /> number 54 with Senator John Marty-DFL as the sole incumbent. All of Roseville is in <br /> the same Senate district. <br /> The majority of Rosevilla, except the Northeast comer of the city defined as the area <br /> that is north of County Road C and east of Victoria Street, will be called District 54A. <br /> Representative Mindy Greiling-DFL in the sole incumbent in this new district of which <br /> Roseville citizens will make up the majority. <br /> The Northeast comer of the city, defined as the area north of County Road G and east <br /> of Victoria Street, joined with parts of Little Canada, Shoreview, and Vadnais Heights, <br /> will be called District 54B. Representative Carl Jacobson-R is the sole incumbent in this <br /> newdistrict. <br /> Presuming all incumbents are reelected, Roseville will havea legislative delegation <br /> consisting of Senator John Marty, Representative Mindy Greiling, and Representative <br /> Carl Jacobson <br /> Attachments are as follows: <br /> Final Order <br /> MN Special Redistricting Panel: House Plan <br /> MN Special Redistricting Panel: Senate Plan <br /> Requested Council Action: <br /> No action requested.
