By keeping our district in an even year stance, we would keep our election a community election. The city, if it stays as with odd year elections would see the same advantages, and would also be able to share election expenses with the school district,an advantage for both organizations.In 1999,the school district moved to odd year elections in order to make the election more visible to the community and to combine with the municipal election schedules. Several cities (Roseville, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, and Maplewood) are on the odd year schedule, and it has saved the district and the cities both money and effort to run combined elections. If the Roseville goes back to even year elections, the district will have to organize their elections on their own for that portion of the district.
