Expand training, focus on recent court case rulings, short and long <br /> term needs of the Department <br /> 2. Increase training and career development opportunities through the <br /> use of training incentives. <br /> 3. Develop training which is job specific and designed to enhance <br /> officer skills including photography, crisis response, crime impact <br /> teams, search and seizure, computer use, crime scene processing. <br /> 4. Design training and testing to reduce liability and personal risk. <br /> 2. Revise and enforce the annual Training Deeds Assessment process. <br /> Objectives: 1. Conduct a yearly review by employee representatives to determine <br /> relative needs. <br /> 2. Assess effectiveness of past years training. <br /> 3.review thoroughly the officers who have recently attended training <br /> relative their current performance evaluation. <br /> 4.Utilize input from citizens in Citizens and Youth Police Academies <br /> and other contacts. <br /> 3. Review and revise the complaint and disciplinary process <br /> Objectives.- 1. To ensure consistency in the handling of complaints and the <br /> administration of discipline. <br /> 2. To ensure the process will be acceptable to the parties involve <br /> and to citizens. <br /> 4. Prepare for re-accreditation in September 1999 <br /> Objectives: 1. Review and revise policies and procedures as needed or rewired <br /> 2. Gather proofs and prepare files using ASAP program <br /> Operations <br /> 1. Evaluate patrol techniques, response methods, and workload <br /> Objectives: 1.routinely and systematically evaluate work load and personnel <br /> deployment as it relates to patrol philosophy and mission. <br /> 2.Develop a systern or method for identifying and attacking problems <br /> in specific geographic areas of the city,using statistical information <br /> to quantify problems and results. <br /> 2. Improve thoroughness,timeliness and accuracy of all case documentation <br /> Objectives: 1. Impress on every officer the need to thoroughly and accurately <br /> document every activity and conversation in criminal cases. <br /> 2.
