Increased use of staff'meetings,networking and communications <br /> to increase cooperation, understandmng and a team philosophy <br /> between patrol and investigation personnel. <br /> 2. Supervisors will set the example for all to follow. <br /> 4. Specialty assignments (traffic, crime scene processing, oriole impact teamsJ <br /> Objectives: 1. Evaluate and identify specific needs by using records and <br /> intelligence collection methods. <br /> 2. Assign staff as needed to work on identified problems. <br /> 5. Maintain a positive pro-active posture in the community. <br /> Objective: work with the Co inrnunity relations Coordinator in gating to know <br /> neighborhood watch groups, school representatives, senior citizens <br /> and business groups, thus building a partnership between the <br /> community and the police department. <br /> 6. Coordinate efforts with other criminal justice agencies in the metro area <br /> Objective: Participate with all criminal justice agencies as well other support <br /> groups to effectively handle the crime problems in the city and <br /> immediate surroundings. <br /> T Evaluate the merits of Problem Oriented Policing in the city sector assigrunents. <br /> Objectives: 1. Evaluation of existing priorities as they relate to individual sectors <br /> within the city. <br /> 2.Evaluate and re-establish new priorities yearly as the need changes. <br /> D, Investigations <br /> Evaluate reorganization of unit and specialized assignments <br /> Objectives: 1. Diligently work to identify perpetrators of crimes, tracing and <br /> locating the perpetrators, and obtaining and preserving evidence as <br /> necessary. <br /> 2. Criminal investigators shall follow an effective methodology of <br /> competently handling all physical evidence, conducting interviews <br /> with witnesses, effectively interrogating suspects, properly <br /> developing all logical leads,documenting facts during investigations <br /> and comprehensively clearing as many cases as possible. <br /> 2. Evaluate scheduling options for Investigators <br /> Objectives.. 1. Ensure that Investigators are available to answer questions and <br /> work with Patrol with minimum use of overtime. <br /> 2. Provide best possible coverage for the public needing to talk to <br /> Investigators, retrieve property, etc. <br /> 8 <br />
