3. Provide training for Investigators in areas where specific expertise is required <br /> Objectives: 1. Develop internal experts in various areas <br /> 2. Support Patrol officers as well as other Investigators,by providing <br /> training in crime analysis, surveillance techniques, photography, <br /> search and seizure, and crime scene investigations. <br /> 3. work with Patrol to prioritize referrals to the detective division <br /> 4. Begin regular roll call participation <br /> Objective: Develop regular and consistent participation and communications <br /> with Patrol. <br /> 5. Increase property room process, control and accountability. <br /> Objective., Ensure the proper handling, processing, disposal, and recording of <br /> evidence and property is done in accordance with all laws and <br /> Departmental policies. <br /> E, Crime Prevention/Pubfic Relations <br /> Graduate the first Youth Police Academy <br /> Objective: Establish lines of communication between youth in the community <br /> and police officers. <br /> 2. Graduate the second Citizen's Police Academy <br /> Objective: Continue to establish better lines of communications within the <br /> ConIrnunity. <br /> 3. Continued emphasis on programs that will educate our citizens and youth. <br /> Objective: Identify programs to enhance our partnership with the community. <br /> 4. Continue to expand community outreach programs <br /> Objectives: 1. Continued efforts with neighborhood watch groups, the Crime <br /> Stopper program, DARE, youth programs, senior citizen programs, <br /> multi-free housing, etc <br /> 2. Work with Assistant City Manager to develop City-wide survey to <br /> better understand the Department's relationship with the community <br /> and the needs of the community relative to the police Department. <br /> 9 <br />
