is
WORK SESSION AGENDA ITEM NO. 7-B
April 149 1998
To: Steve Sarkozy
City Manager
From: Ed Burreh
Finance Director
Rem. Open Government and Fiscal Disclosure Policy
From time to time, the Council has asked to either revise or to add policies to the City's fiscal
policies that will assist to continuing the high integrity and openness of the City of Roseville city
government.
Attached is a draft of a proposed fiscal policy which could very appropriately supplement the
many deliberations which take place over the year's time that have a substantial impact on the
budget of the City.
While the policy is not meant to be onerous, the Council's growing reliance on commnunity
guidance and input on a pride-range of city projects and services has prompted some council
attention to the need for a specific standard. This standard is to maintain the openness of major
fiscal impacts of policy developments by the participative groups.
As per our ealier discussion, this may need to be a topic at an upcoming work session.
