REQ UEST FOR 1 TY C UNCIL A TION <br /> DATE: 3/23/98 <br /> ITEM Flo: F-3 <br /> De artm t Approval: Manager Approval: Agenda section: <br /> X7 <br /> ", Reports/Recommendations- LE <br /> r escription: 1998 consultant Work Plan <br /> Request to Approve Work Plan for Community Development <br /> Consultant for Rambler Redesign Program <br /> 1.0 Re geted Acton <br /> City staff is requesting approval by motion of the attached 1998 work plan for the consulting <br /> services of Q A} Inc. to the Community Development Department for assistance in implementing <br /> the Rambler Redesign Program. <br /> 2,0 Bach round <br /> 2.1 Rambler Redesi n: on February 9, 1998, the City Council approved continuation of the <br /> Roseville Rambler Redesign Program for a second year with a total budget of $34,000 <br /> from the Roseville Housing Fund. In 1997, the program was fully funded by the <br /> Metropolitan Livable Communities Grant and Q A, Inc. assisted the Community <br /> Development staff identify three homes, out of over 80 applicants, to receive grants for <br /> design fees to remodel older homes in the City of Rosevil#e. Two homes are planning to <br /> begin remodeling this spring. In 1 998, the City will only provide 50% of the design costs <br /> u p to a maximum of 9,000 to three homes selected under the program. City staff is <br /> proposing that Q A} Inc. assist in the implementation of the program in the following <br /> areas: <br /> 2.1.1 Prototype & Homeowner Selection <br /> 2.1.2 Financing Assistance to Selected Homeowners <br /> 2.1.3 Contract Recommendations for Homeowner & Architect contracts with the City <br /> 2.1.4 Act as construction Resource to Selected Homeowners to assure a smooth <br /> process and quality remodeling <br /> 2.1.5 Promotion of completed Rambler Redesign Projects <br /> Items 2.1.1 - .1.4. would be covered under the approved budget of $34,000 and would <br /> not exceed $9, 145.
