AGREEMENT FOR SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT Ei I E The COUNTY OF FOAM EY, hereinafter referred to as the "COUNTY" and the CITY OF RO EVI LLE, hereinafter referred to as the "CITY" enter into this Agreement for the period from May 1, 1998 through September 30, 1998. WITNE SETH; WHEREAS, pursuant to MINN. sTAT. Chapter 8613, the Ramsey County Sheriff has the authority to ,maintain a program of search, rescue, and patrol relating to lake use and to enforce lags including all applicable RO EVI LLE ordinances, relating to grater safety and use; and WHEREAS, pursuant to MINN. sTAT' § 471,59, the COUNTY and the CITY desire to enter into a joint powers agreement authorizing the Ramsey Counter Sheriff to assign water patrol personnel and equipment to patrol and police the surface and shorelines of Lake Owasso in addition to routine COUNTY water patrol activity, NOW, THEREFORE,, IT Is STIPULATED: 1. The COUNTY agrees, through the Ramsey County sheriff, to provide patrol and police services: in addition to the patrol and police services regulady provided, to the CITY on the surface and shoreline of Lake Owasso to the extent and in the manner hereinafter set forth. 2. The rendition of such service, the standards of performance, the discipline of officers, and other ,matters incident to the performance of such services and the control of personnel so employed, shall remain with the COUNTY. In the event of a dispute between the parties as to the extent of the duties and functions to be rendered hereunder or the manner of performance of such service, the determination thereof made by the Sheriff of the COUNTY shall be final and conclusive between the parties as to the extent of the duties and function to be rendered hereunder or the manner of performance of such service, the determination thereof made by the sheriff of the COUNTY shall be final and conclusive between the parties hereto. 3. The COUNTY agrees to provide trained uniformed deputies with proper equipment, identification, and communications on Lame Owasso. 4. The number of hours to be worked under this agreement shall be as follows: Winter Patrol: zero (o) hours, Summer Patrol: thirty six (36) hours. It is agreed that the schedule of days and hours of work shall be determined at the discretion of the Ramsey County Sheriff with emphasis being placed on weekends and holidays.
