REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> DATE: <br /> 2/23/98 <br /> ITEM O: F-3 <br /> Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section; <br /> M & Reports and Recommendations <br /> Item Description; Approval of Contract with Mike Scott of United Properties <br /> Brokerage for Marketing Skating Center Space <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The expansion project at the Roseville Slating Center has been divided into two <br /> components. One of these areas is the proposed retail space that could include a pro shop <br /> and restaurant. City staff has net with potential operators of these spaces and all have <br /> shown interest in the successful prospects for these markets. <br /> The City is in need of a broker to solicit, screen and negotiate terms for these areas. This <br /> process would follow public bidding requirements. The decision to proceed on this space <br /> would be made by the Council after a review of the pro forma analysis of the submitted <br /> proposals. <br /> Attached is the proposed agreement with Mike Scott of United Properties Brokerage. Mr. <br /> Scott has been very active in the Roseville retail space met. The conditions of the <br /> agreement contain a ' month clause at which time the agreement is void if no successful <br /> referrals are received from Mr. Scott. The beginning dates would he adjusted from the <br /> attached draft to reflect the current date of approval. <br /> POLICY OBJECTIVE <br /> The proposed consultant contract is consistent with the policy of providing the hest <br /> possible advice to the Council on technical issues. <br />
