Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct firefighting and fire prevention activities. <br /> Knowledge of federal, state, and local laves and ordinances pertaining to fire <br /> protection and prevention. <br /> Ability to fully utilize the capabilities of volunteers, including the ability to maintain <br /> discipline and promote morale. <br /> Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other city <br /> officials, state and federal authorities, and the public. <br /> Ability to react calmly and quickly in the case of emergency and to matte good <br /> decisions under such situations. <br /> Ability to communicate effectively, in both oral and written format. <br /> Minimum Qualifications <br /> High School diploma or equivalent, and additional work at a two year institution. <br /> Ten years of progressive fire experience. <br /> Five years of supervisory or command experience in a fire setting. <br /> Completion of Firefighter 1, , and Hazardous Materials Operations training- <br /> Completion of AA deg me within 48 months of hire. <br /> Completion of First Responder Certificate. <br /> Desirable Qualifications <br /> Four y ear degree in Fire administration, Public Administration, Business <br /> Administration or related field. <br /> Extent of Supervision <br /> Works under the general supervision of the City Manager. <br /> i <br />
