The proposed City Code amendment will not adversely affect the public <br /> health, safety, or general welfare. <br /> STAFF REIOEDA TIO <br /> 4.1 Based on the findings outlined in Section 3.1 of this report, staff recommends that <br /> Section 1012.10(A) of the City Code be amended as follows: <br /> 12. Exception: Antennas attached to, but not above, the exterior walls of buildings as <br /> an integral part of the architecture shall be a permitted use in all B Business and I <br /> Industrial Districts. Antennas attached to existing public utility structures or <br /> e istina public utility towers in any zoning district, including electrical <br /> transmission towers or other structures deemed appro riate by the Director <br /> of Communily Dpvelgpment, shall be a permitted use in all zonina districts. <br /> 5.0 PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br /> 5.1 On December 10, 1997, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the <br /> request. No residents present commented on this request. <br /> 5.2 The Planning Commission discussed the benefits of adopting the proposed <br /> provisions, the dual use of existing structures, and the possibility of limiting the <br /> number of new towers needed. <br /> 5.3 The Planning Commission recommended that the City Council amend Section <br /> 1012.1 o( ) of the City Code as detailed in Section 4.1 of this report, based on the <br /> findings outlined in Section 3.1 of this report. <br /> 6.0 SUGGESTED CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br /> 1 Hold third reading and amend Section +101 .1 o(A) of the City Code as follows, <br /> based on the findings outlined in Section 3.1 of this report: <br /> 12.
