Adoption of ordinance further amending City of Roseville Cable <br /> Franchise Ordinance 9+11, Article ll., Section 4, Franchise Term. <br /> 13ACKGRO!JND <br /> On October 27, 1997, the city Council adopted an ordinance to extend the 15 year <br /> franchise for cable services to January 19, 1 998 to allow additional time for negotiation of <br /> a new franchise. Additional time is necessary to conclude franchise negotiations and to <br /> understand better Federal Communications Commission's actions influencing the franchise <br /> terms. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br /> The terries and conditions of the City's original franchise for Cable Television will remain <br /> ongoing and unchanged during the terra of any franchise extension. <br /> STAFF [DECO MENDAT N <br /> Approve the franchise extension. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br /> Motion adopting an ordinance amending Cable Franchise Ordinance No. 911, Article H., <br /> Section 4, Franchise Term, to provide for an extension of the existing franchise with Group <br /> VIA Cable of the North Suburbs, Inc. to April 20, 1998, with all terms and conditions <br /> remaining intact. <br />
