REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> DATEW 1/12/98 <br /> RE EITEM NO.. <br /> -8 <br /> Department r Reviewed: Section: <br /> Organizational Business <br /> Item Description: 1998 Pay Equity Report. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Minnesota State Law requires that public jurisdictions file a Pay Equity Report with the <br /> Department of Employee Relations to remain in compliance with the 1984 Local <br /> Government Pay Equity Act. The City of Roseville is required to file this report by January <br /> 1, 1 998. Preliminary statistics compiled from the report indicate that the City of Roseville <br /> is in full compliance with the Act. Only the Department of Employee Relations can make <br /> an official determination of compliance. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPLI ATIOV <br /> There are no financial implications associated with approving the report. <br /> STAFF RE III IENDATIoNs <br /> Staff recommends Council approval and submittal of the Fay Equity Report. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br /> Lotion authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to sign the report, indicating the approval <br /> of the City Council. <br />
