Mr. Steve Gatlin
November 19, 1993
Page 2
TASK III - Collect Water Quality Information
Stormwater run-off water quality samples for a pollutant list to be established will be
collected and analyzed after receiving input on quality concerns from the City, the
Watershed District, and the MPCA. Samples will also be collected in Langton Lake to
establish background levels of target pollutants. Samples will also be collected to
calibrate a water quality model that will be developed as part of TASK VI. It is likely
taus sampling effort will take place in the Spring of 1994. Analysis costs will be an extra
to this task.
Estimated Cost $1,800
TASK IV - Complete Preliminary Hydrologic and Hydraulic Analysis of Study Area
Utilizing topographic mapping and as-built information, ahydrologic/hydraulic model
will be developed to predict stormwater run-off rates and volumes generated within the
study area. (The study area will consist of all areas tributary to Langton Lake that are
south of County Road C2). A TR-20 based hydrologic model will be utilized to assist in
the development of phis information. Stormwater non-off rates and volumes fora 1, 10,
and 100-year frequency event will be analyzed.
Estimated Cost X4,500
TASK V - Complete Field Survey
A field survey will be completed as necessary to further define and refine stage storage
and stage discharge relationships for depressions and conveyance systems within the
study area.
Estimated Cost $2.,(W-.
TASK VI- Set up P-8 Water Quality Model
A water qaaffity model will be developed that wil3 predict pollutant loadings from the
watered as well as treatment basin removal efficiencies. Specifically, this model will-
target pollutant loadings and removal efficiencies associated with total phosphorus, total
suspended solids, and metals, such as copper and lead. The model will be calibrated
baased on literature values and site specific sampling results.
Estimated Cost X3,800
