Page
oval Change orders
12/13/93
Jim Maland has provided us with the most recent information indicating
that essentially these three elements of the project are substantially
complete in terms of financing. The substantial completion date for the
project is December 15, 1993, with final compl etion due the following
week. No additional change orders for these three elements of the
project are anticipated. The council can approve the change orders and
assume that no additional expenditures will be made under these three
components o f the. project. The budget will be adequate to finish the
work.
Additional outstanding unfinished contracts include the following:
!_ Site grading, utilities, demolition awarded $299,900
to Frattalone
Sound. system awarded to Muzak, Inc* 81000
- Lighting system awarded to Electric Service Co. 133, 000
- Spectator seating/entry area awarded to Arkay 157,400
Construction with alternates
- Parking lot entrance road construction awarded 120,500
to T. A. Bchifsky including contingencies
TOTAL $718,800
There are also several other items which will be purchased as part of
the project including nettingl padding, treesp scoreboard, rubber mats,
flag poles, plagues, and other miscellaneous operational items.
Because many of these contracts are currently open and are not
anticipated to be completed until the spring, final closure of the
project cannot be made at this time.
policy objectives" By City polio, change orders which exceed 5 of the
base hid contract amount must be approved by the city council. Each of
the change order documents prepared by the project engineer indicates
that all o f the change orders Yi cu! proposed for consideration exceed the
5 limitation when added to the ,original awarded contract and past
change orders. Therefore, counc;' I approval of all three change orders
r g s necessary. The change order .ess has a s been completed l eted in accordance

with city policy and the documents have been reviewed and signed by the
contractors and engineer@
Financial implications: All three of these change orders are within the
p fact, budget estimates provided to the City Council recently. In fa , for
the three change orders in the final analysis, the original contracts
plus all change orders included to date is- approximately $5, 000 less
than the budget estimates prepared approximately 30 days ago*
