We are recommending the cur-
rent flat rate of$32.46 per quarter for a resident be replaced by a quarterly service fee of$10.95 plus
actual usage of water at a $1.24 rate per 1,000 gallons. (Senior citin rates would be $6.69 per quar-
ter plus usage.) An example would be someone who uses 6,000 gallons of water per quarter. They
currently pay $32.46 but under the new structure} they would pay $18.39.
We are also aware that a significant amount of water usage during the summer months does not go
into the sanitary sewer and therefore we would recorninend that the residential sanitary sewer rate be
capped at the level of 25 higher than the city-wide computed average. That cap would be currently
at$41,11 per quarter for a regular resident with the senior citizen cap at$25.10.
M
The commerciaWndustrial sanitary rate would also include a service fee based on the size of the
meter demand plus the unchanged 1993 rate of$2.09 per 1,000 gallons of water used.
Below is a comparison of current 1993 sanitary sewer rates of other comparable cities our size
F CURRENT SANITARY SEWER RATES
coMMMION W=COMMI"Ll COMKI i'71%
e i nNnes an moms
s
a
I L L A D L a a A 0 V I I I r
Z K T 0 F A 9 L Q 0 2 N I c 7
_ 1 L A X X K D I L
T 0 ht I A N V f N 9 L r L 9
P N Q x W 2 t K I V I t 0
R t X 0 1 L A 1 0 T e 9 V
A C I Q 0 1 L P P N I A
a 1 p 1 A L
$    A T
I
I
=21 CIriN i"a
D
FSOPMD MML 1"4
Novi"Movalummat I"[A d
Storm Drainage
A review of the Storm Drainage operations indicates that no cost adjustment is necessary for 1994.
