This plan allows an employee who is covered under a <br /> p y# the City of Roseville and <br /> spouse's plan to drop medical coverage with y <br /> cheese: <br /> A City contribution toward a deferred comp. plan; or <br /> IF A monthly cash benefits <br /> Policy ob'ect i t <br /> By <br /> offering this plan, the City will save on benefit premium costs and <br /> employees will be able to choose the option that hest meets their <br /> particular needs* <br /> Financial implications <br /> Staff estimates $1,500 annual savings to the pity of Roseville based on <br /> the following a ssumption s <br /> Approximately one-third of our nonunion employees have the <br /> pp * � � � plan (20 em to ees option to participate in their spouse s p p y } . <br /> We estimate that one-half of those individuals (10) will <br /> choose to opt out of our plans <br /> Savings will be greater if more employees opt out and if individuals <br /> with family coverage opt out S <br /> Staff Recommendati <br /> Based on the p otential savings to the city and the additional <br /> flexibility being offered to employees' staff recommends that Council <br /> f y � <br /> approve the proposed plan. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> : <br /> Motion authorizing taff to add the proposed new benefits to the City <br /> • � � the plan <br /> of Roseville Employee Flexible Benefit plan and to amend p <br /> accordingly, and update it to comply with changes in the Internal <br /> Revenue Service Code* F <br />
