EKTRACT 0F.MRqUTES OF NEEEMG OF TIM <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br /> Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 25th day of October, 1993 at <br /> "x:30 p.m. <br /> The following were t: <br /> and the following were absent. <br /> Member, introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> FMOL TTIO T NO. <br /> NAME OF RESOLUrION <br /> , in July 1990 the American with Disabilities Pict was sighed into law with the goal <br /> of eliminating the exclusion of persons with disabilities from buildings, <br /> participation and programs, receipt of services and employment; and <br /> the City of Roseville, Parks and Recreation Department, has conducted a self <br /> evaluation of recreation programs and providing opportunities with handicaps; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department has discovered a need for <br /> recreation and leisure,services for people with disabilities, particularly children <br /> 8-1 years of age; and <br /> A, <br /> WHEREAS, the cities of Maplewood, Woodbury, Roseville, Little Canada, Oakdale, North <br /> St. Paul and their respective school districts, met to about a collaborative <br /> program for the entire East Metro Area; and <br /> WHEREAS, sufficient funding and sing time for the collaborative adaptive recreational <br /> program are not available to city and .school district budgets; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville, in conjunction with other <br /> cities in Ramsey and Washington Counties, and collaborating school districts, does hereby <br /> support the collaborative efforts of the parks and recreation departments, community education <br /> and education o s, to study, establish and provide programs for persons with <br /> disabilities; and <br /> BE IT AlLSO RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Roseville strongly supports the <br /> application submitted to the Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation requesting funds <br /> to make this important and timely study possible. <br />
