REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION DATE: 10/25/93 <br /> ITEM NO <br /> Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br /> Organizational Business <br /> It4m Description: Renewal of Contract for Employee Assistance program <br /> services. <br /> 01 <br /> Background <br /> For several years, the City has contracted with Health East to provide <br /> an Employee Assistance Program. The service can be used by employees <br /> and family members for problems such as emotional, financial,, legal, <br /> alcohol use, drug use, marital, etc. <br /> Employees may be referred to the Employee Assistance Program by their <br /> supervisor if their work performance is being affected by a personal <br /> problem. Employees may also use the program on their own initiative <br /> and on a confidential basis. <br /> The City receives data on the use of the program on a quarterly basis. <br /> Financial IMR1 ications <br /> Funds are included in the budget to cover the $16.00 per employee per <br /> year cost. <br /> Recommendation <br /> This 'i's an excellent and well used benefit for the employees and it is <br /> recommended that it be continued. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> Motion authorizing the City Manager to sign the agreement with Health-- <br /> East for the provision of Employee Assistance program services for the <br /> period of bctober 1, 1993 through September 30, 1994e <br />
