The City Council, at its May 24, 19 9 3 meeting, denied Boyer Ford Trucks <br /> request for a special use permit for truck body repair at 1975 Oakcrest <br /> Avenue, Subsequently, the applicant appeared before the City Council at <br /> a Work Session to discuss steps that they might take to bring this site <br /> into compliance with the design standards of the Roseville City Code. The <br /> primary issues under consideration included the building materials, <br /> landscaping, b ituminous surf ac ing f or the parking area, and concrete curb <br /> and gutter around the drive aisles and parking areas. At that time, the <br /> City council reiterated the importance of the design standards in the <br /> City's long range plans and visions for the future. The Council also <br /> acknowledged that bringing the existing buildings into compliance <br /> immediately could pose a financial hardship on the applicants and <br /> indicated that doing so over a five year period might, be a workable <br /> solution for both the City and the property owner. <br /> 2* Following that, the building owner and the applicant worked with City <br /> staff to revise their site plans and building elevations and work out a <br /> schedule for the proposed improvements. They are now proposing to keep <br /> the existing face brick on the building and replace the metal panels with <br /> stucco. In addition, they will b 1 a ckt opp ing and adding curb and gutter to <br /> the parking areas and landscaping the remainder of the situ They are <br /> proposing the following three phase site improvement schedule: <br /> 1993 A. Add security f ence. <br /> B, Install top surfacing and curb and gutter for the parking <br /> areas in front of the building. <br /> Ca Complete landscaping in the front of the building. <br /> 1994 A9 Install rear parking lot bituminous surfacing and curb and <br /> gutter. <br /> B. Complete yard and side yard seeding and landscaping. <br /> 1997 Completion of building modifications replacing metal panels with <br /> stuccos <br /> At the July 12, 1993 meeting, the City Council conducted a hearing to <br /> reconsider Boyer Ford Truck's request for a special use permit at 1975 <br /> Oakcrest Avenue.
