LMHRC is working with Outfront Minnesota, considering the best ways to present <br /> information. <br /> Commissioner Grefenberg moved and Commissioner Brisbois seconded motion that the Roseville <br /> Human Rights Commission recommends that the LMHRC take a position opposing the vote for a <br /> constitutional amendments banning same sex marriages. Motion prevailed unanimously. <br /> November Meeting <br /> Chair Singleton reviewed state statute that prohibits public meetings between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. on <br /> election night, so the HRC needed to change the November meeting date. Commissioner Doneen <br /> moved and Commissioner Brisbois seconded motion to meet on Wednesday, November 16, at 6:30 <br /> p.m. Motion prevailed unanimously. <br /> Golden Valley Human Rights Commission <br /> Commissioner McKenzie introduced representatives from the Golden Valley Human Rights <br /> Commission (GVHRC). She said they wanted to see how other commissions worked. The GVHRC <br /> was the first HRC in Minnesota. They were a very active commission, organizing many activities <br /> and events, but in recent years they have had some problems and are trying to rebuild. <br /> GVHRC Commissioners thanked the Commission for the opportunity to observe the commissioner <br /> meeting. <br /> Future Agenda Items <br /> Consider action supporting membership in the League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions. <br /> Announcements <br /> Commissioners reminded everyone of the Civic Engagement Neighbor to Neighbor meeting on <br /> Wednesday at 6:30 at the Roseville Skating Center. Commissioner Grefenberg said he may have a <br /> small charge for snacks at the Civic Engagement meeting. <br /> Commissioners reminded everyone of the Project 515 discussion of discrimination against same sex <br /> couples and their families. It is sponsored by the Roseville and Shoreview HRCs. That meeting will <br /> be October 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Roseville Skating Center. <br /> Adjournment <br /> Commissioner Brisbois moved and Commissioner Thao seconded motion to adjourn. Meeting <br /> adjourned. <br />
