DI WO ZF414 vie) MI <br />OF111 al <br />(4VDII 001 <br />CiI�Y OF RORER T F <br />MINNE30TA, USA <br />The Sister ' Cities program is designed to encourage friendly and meaningful exchanges <br />between communities in the United States and communities in other countries. <br />The Roseville City Council has established a Sister City committee to explore the possibility <br />of the Roseville community entering into this type of relationship with ether communities <br />of the world. <br />The committee has as its mission: "To foster good will and understanding between the <br />people in the Roseville community and other people of the world on a person -to- person <br />basis." <br />This is to be accomplished by identifying communities and people in other countries who <br />have an interest in establishing an on -going cultural exchange program with people in the <br />Roseville area. <br />The types of two -way activities that the committee will be trying to establish include: <br />Exchanp tours of special interest groups, school groups, business groups, and clubs, <br />where the participants could be hosted be hosted by local families; <br />Exchange of students and other people who would like to experience living in <br />another culture; <br />Exchangestassistance in business arid.. economic endeavors <br />Exchange of letters between students and other people who are interested m pen - <br />pal re altio n ships; and <br />Exchange of cultural exhibits and activities that highlight the art, music, daily life, <br />holiday customs, food, and other aspects of the sister city. <br />The procedure to begin this program would be by Hirst establishing informal relationships <br />with other communities (Friendship City), when these relationships develop into a <br />positive exchange, a more formal sister city relationship (Slater City), involving city <br />of dal s from both cities, would be established. <br />
