Donations to the City of Roseville <br />BACKGROUND <br />Over the years the City of Roseville has received many donations <br />from citizens and program participants. These gifts have been in <br />the form of both materials and monies, when staff is notified of <br />a potential donation, they first make a determination of whether to <br />recommend acceptance based on the suitability of the item for the <br />city. A request for authorization is then forwarded to the City <br />Council. <br />POLICY <br />The following is the City of Roseville 's policy regarding the <br />acceptance of donations: <br />Minnesota Statute requires all donations to he officially <br />accepted by the city Council. <br />The staff will not solicit donations. <br />Donors will be informed that no conditions or promises of <br />future favorable city action on their behalf may be attached <br />to the gift. <br />Following Council acceptance,, staff will send a letter of <br />appreciation to each donor. <br />FITANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br />Approved donations for budgeted items will result in a budget <br />reduction. Items or monies for items or programs not budgeted wi 11 <br />not be purchased or conducted unless the Council approves the <br />donation f <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends acceptance of these donations. <br />REgUEST 4R COUNCIL ACTION <br />Motion authorizing acceptance of the following donation: <br />ITEM AMOUNT <br />Brooks Food Markets 12 sans of coffee $50.00 <br />
