Regular City Council Minutes --- 11124103 <br />DRAST Minutes - Page 40 <br />Motion failed. <br />Suggested Deduction <br />Suggested Amount <br />-Eliminate leaf 1c% u program <br />$50,OOO <br />Kysylyczyn moved, without a second, to eliminate the leaf <br />pick up program at a cost savings of $50,000. <br />Finance Director Miller, as requested by Mayor <br />Kysylyczyn, noted that the program was funded by <br />citizen's stormwater utility fees, and would be a reduction <br />on user rates, not on the levy. <br />Councilmember Schroeder spoke in support of the motion, <br />recommending that the $50,000 could be better utilized for <br />improvements in the compost site in the near fature for <br />equipment and staffing; and would alleviate staff time for <br />other tasks. <br />Councilmember Kough spoke in favor of the motion. <br />Councilmember Klausing spoke in support of the motion, <br />given previously -heard public testimony for the program. <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn spoke in support of the motion. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Kysylyczyn and Schroeder. <br />Nays: Maschka, Klausing and Kough. <br />Motion failed. <br />Suggested Redaction <br />Suggested Amount <br />Forgo replacement of current personnel <br />vacancies <br />$409000 <br />Kysylyczyn moved, without a second, reduction of <br />$40,400 by forgoing replacement of current personnel <br />vacancies. <br />Discussion was held among Councilmembers and Parks <br />
