Final contract acceptance of 2002 Contract B <br />Background: 2002 Contract B was awarded to T. A. Schifsky and Sons of North St. Paul, Minnesota <br />on June 3, 2002. The road reconstruction, rehabilitation, and pathway were constructed during the <br />summer of 2002. All final punch list items have been completed, and the contractor has requested final <br />payment. <br />2002 Contract B <br />Neighborhood 16: Lydia Ave, Chatsworth St to Cul-de-sac <br />Lydia Dn've, Lydia Ave to Chatsworth St <br />Neighborhood 4: walnut St, County Road C to Rose Place <br />N Hwy 36 Service Drive, St Croix St to Long Lake Road <br />l osegate, N Hwy 36 Service Drive to Cleveland Ave <br />Neighborhood 25: Oakcrest Ave, prior Ave to Fairview Ave <br />Policy objectives: City policy requires that the following items be completed to finalize a construction <br />contract: <br />• Certification from the City Engineer verifying that all of the work ha-s 'been c- ompleted in accordance <br />with plans and specifications. <br />• A resolution by the City Council accepting the contract and beginning the one -year warranty. <br />Financial implications: The final contract amount, $643,259.13 is $26,772.05 greater than the awarded <br />amount of $616,487.09. This represents an increase in contract of approximately 4.3 %. This is <br />attributed to quantity overruns due to additional curb removals and subgrade correction, this work was <br />necessary to complete the street reconstruction.
