B. <br />Recognitions <br />Race Equality week <br />R da""k 05, evill P <br />u;L e rociamatio4- <br />Race Equality Week <br />September 29 to October 4, 2003 <br />Whereas: the City of Roseville is committed to promoting racial equality and justice <br />as a fundamental aspect of a healthy community; and <br />Whereas: the Roseville Human Rights Commission urges local individuals and <br />businesses to join together to promote racial equality and j ustice; and <br />Whereas: the City declares racism unjust and advocates equal rights for all; and <br />Whereas: by Act of Congress of the United States dated July 2, 1964, the Civil <br />Rights Act of 1 964 was adopted banning discrimination because of a person's color, race, <br />national origin, religion or sex; and <br />Whereas: by Act of Congress of the United States dated July 9, 1868, the 14th <br />Amendment of the Constitution of the United States giving all persons bom or <br />naturalized in the United States the right to due process and equal, protection under the <br />law; and <br />Whereas: the City of Roseville invites everyone to renew their commitment to <br />ensuring racial equality and justice for all beginning on September 29, 2003 <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City of Roseville hereby declare the week of <br />September 29, 2003 as Race Equality week in the City of Roseville and urge all citizens <br />to join together- to support this effort. <br />In the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, U. .A <br />In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the it of <br />Roseville y <br />e i ll a to b e affixed this 29th day o f September 2003 . <br />Mayor John lysyl yczyn <br />
