C& Recopitions an R 11 R ecogniCioii r osevi e Rights Human Rights Awarenes,�.; October 2003 Whereas: The City of Roseville is committed to recognizing and honoring the contributions of all members of the community; and Whereas-, The Roseville Human Rights Commission, through education and outreach, works to promote a positive human rights climate in the City of Roseville; and Whereas: October 1 is the International Day for the Elderly, a day to celebrate the contributions to the community that senior citizcns have made; and Whereas: October 5 is world Teachers' Darr, a day to honor all teachers for their leadership io shaping the future; and Whereas: October 6 is Universal Children's Day, a day to recognize the worth of children in all countries of the world; and Whereas: October I I is the birth date of Eleanor Roosevelt., a tireless voice for Human Rights for all; and Whereas: October 17 is International Day for Tolerance, a day to reflect on our own biases and to work to gain an understanding and acceptance of people who are different from us} whether by race, national origin, gender, religion age} color or disabi l it} ; and Whereas: October 24 is United Nations' Darr, a day to recognize the work of the United Nations to build peace, foster understanding and to protect the Human Rights of all people; and Whereas: The City of Roseville invites all residents to renew their commitment to ensuring equality and justice for all. Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Coun c i l hereby honors those dates in the month of October and urges all citizens to join together to strengthen the Roseville community.
