Date: 09/1 5/03 <br />Item: X1.1. <br />comet <br />Bum Petit <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />I z t 4 ex &tA a) <br />Item Description: Request for burn permit to burn wild growth at Ramsey County woodview Marsh, <br />located on the ?North side of Larpenteur Avenue, between Kcnt Street and Galtier Street. <br />1. Ramsey Counter is requesting a burn permit for the purpose of burying the wild growth on the site for <br />the purpose of restoring the native vegetation. <br />2. Ramsey County has developed a wetland Management Plan, approved by the City of Roseville and <br />the Board of water and Soil resources. Restoration of the vegetation on the site is part of the <br />restoration plan. <br />3. This is proposed to be a "one time burn ", scheduled for early September and the burn will be <br />conducted by Ramsey County staff from Parks and Recreation and Public works. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />1 m Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the Fire Marshal to issue a burn permit to the <br />Ramsey County Department of Public Works for the period of September 1 tough September 15, <br />2003 to burn the 4 to 5 acres of wild vegetation within the woodview Marsh. <br />2. Staff further recommends that the Ramsey County public works Department be required to notify the <br />Roseville Fire Dispatch (651-484-1267) 24 hours prior to the burn, as a condition of the issuance of <br />the permit. <br />Prepared by: John Loftus, Fire Marshal <br />
