I believe that Roseville's leaf
pick -up program is valuable to its citizens and worth preserving. It is
valuable enough to me that I am willing to pay up to $25 per year for the
service.
This value I see is:
* Cost of hags (approx. 50 per year) and their ecological impact
Time savings of not bagging the leaves ( about 6 hours estimated)
* Cost of hauling hags or paying Walter's to collect -- I own a small
oar and hauling them myself is impractical
($1 per hag for more than 6 bags, I believe)
I have heard others argue that this program only benefits the affluent
residents with large lots and I disagree with this I own a small house on
a small lot (8 41 Grandview Ave. W) . Because of the large number of mature
trees in Roseville, I typically fill 50 large bags of leaves if I don't use
the pick --up program.
I believe that the leaf collection and composting programs equally benefit
everyone, are valuable, and should be preserved.
Sincerely,
Stan Mros
841 Grandview Ave.
Roseville, MN
651 -4 9@ -3169
mros @ s kypoint , core
1
