Desen"Ption of Proposed Agreement <br />The proposed agreement includes the following: <br />1. The contract terra to be for the two years from 1/ 1 /03 — 12/3 1/04. This Sri 11 <br />allow both the City and the Union to focus on work for a longer period of time <br />verses always being in a state of negotiations. <br />2. wages will increase 3% for 2003, effective 1/1/03, as discussed above, and a <br />2% adjustment plus a 1% Stanton v adjustment, for a total of 3% for 2004. <br />The 2004 total adjustment is derived through benchmarks of other Stanton v <br />comparable municipalities with settlements or proposals for 2004. Supporting <br />documentation from the Stanton survey, staff` survey, and the US Department <br />of Labor is enclosed for your convenient reference. <br />3. For the City contribution for insurance the language is as follows. The <br />ENTLOYER will contribute up to a maximum of five hundred twenty <br />dollars and sixty -eight cents (520.68) per month per employee for Calendar <br />2003, or the same amount which it contributes for all other City employees, <br />whichever amount is greater. <br />4. The annual uniform allowance will go from $580 to 656 effective 1/1/03 <br />and the City will increase the allowance by % effective .January 1, 2004 <br />bringing it to $675. <br />6. Compensatory accrual maximums will increase from 50 to 60 hours. <br />7. The City and Teamsters will continue to discuss a post employment health <br />care savings plan as a possible addition to the City benefits package. <br />The Law Enforcement Labor Service (EELS) union group of Police Officers is still <br />negotiating for the 2003 - 2004 contract. <br />2 <br />
