D. <br />Background: For well over a year now, staff has been working with a Denver firm that is <br />interested in placing transit shelters and related amenities at select bus stop locations in <br />Roseville. The Council has had several discussions and presentations at previous council <br />meetings on this topic. Most recently, at the May 12, 2002, Council Meeting, the City Council <br />sought public input regarding transit amenities. Input was received from US Bench, who <br />maintains 50+ bus benches throughout the City. They stated they co- locate with shelters in <br />Minneapolis and St. Paul, and their desire is to co- locate if there are taus shelters allowed in <br />Roseville. A. Metro- Transit representative also addressed concerns of who the public perceives <br />as the owner of transit amenities. They asked that the City establish responsibility for <br />maintenance at shelter sites with the shelter company. The shelter company should be <br />responsible for the mai <br />
