Regular City Council Minutes — 3/31/03 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 29 <br />Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: None. <br />Klausing moved, Kough seconded, approval of the March <br />17, 2003 regular Council meeting minutes as presented. <br />XIII. Other Business Other Business <br />A. Street Sweeping <br />Councilmember Kough brought the condition of County <br />and State-jurisdictional streets (i.e., Hamline Avenue) to <br />the Council's attention; identif�niy their nP�� fir <br />sweeping and removal of pieces of broken pavement; and <br />the need to address these items as safety hazards. <br />Councilmernber Kough asked that City Public Works staff <br />be directed to contact the State and/or County respectively <br />to encourage their upkeep of streets within the City of <br />Roseville. <br />Public Works Director Duane Schwartz advised <br />Councilmembers that staff had already been in touch with <br />Ramsey County and offered the City's assistance in <br />achieving this goal. Mr. Schwartz asked that staff be <br />allowed to continue to act as liaison in making the State <br />and County aware of the issue, even though to -dale there <br />has been no response from Ramsey County regarding the <br />City's offer. Mr. Schwartz advised that, weather <br />permitting, the City streets will have been completely <br />swept by the end of this week. Mr. Schwartz further <br />advised that, due to State cutbacks, Ramsey County had <br />reduced their contractual maintenance budget, therefore <br />would be hiring no outside contractors for items usually ` 6 <br />accomplished by outsourcing. <br />Kough moved, Klausing seconded, that staff be directed to <br />
