Allows for greater public scrutiny and evaluation of candidates_ <br />r` Not having a primary would make the general election ballot so long that <br />voters cannot possibly be informed. <br />--l< It would be unethical for the Council to eliminate the primary if the effect <br />would be to increase the chances of an incumbent's election. <br />Will encourage voter games through organized "bulled" voting for one <br />candidate. (i.e. Having citizens only voting for one personTather than the <br />for each council seat which is open. <br />law A primary provides candidates a relatively inexpensive way to measure <br />(heir public support before having to commit to an expensive general <br />election campaign. <br />Preserve Our Democracy <br />Be a Voter!! <br />
