Agenda Section: <br />i consent <br />Item Description: <br />Award of Bid for an Ice Re-Surfacer for the <br />Roseville Skating Center /John Rose Minnesota OVAL <br />BACKGROUND <br />The current ice re- surfacer, (Olympia),, at the John Rose Minnesota OVAL was <br />purchased when the OVAL opened in 1993. Over the years it has served the OVAL <br />well but it is at the end of its' useful life and is due and in dire need of replacement this <br />gear. <br />The plan is to trade 15 in the 1993 Olympia. Zamboni & Co., Inc. <br />$91,834 $3,500 <br />$$$,334 <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />The proposed purchase is requested so that the OVAIL can maintain the high quality of <br />ice cond1tions that is expected and demanded in a timely, efficient manner. <br />FINANCIAL IAL I PLI ATION <br />The budgeted amount for the proposed equ i pme nt is $100,000. The money is proposed <br />to be taken from the Equipment Replacement Fund. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Eased on the hid results, staff recommends the low hid of $88,334 from Frank J. <br />amboni & Co., Inc- for the purchase of an ice re- surfacer for the Roseville Skating <br />Center/ John Rose Minnesota OVAL. The vendor has supplied the necessary bend and <br />is qualified to supply the ice re- surfacer. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion authorizing the acceptance of the lour hid of $88,334 from Frank J. Zamboni <br />Co., Inc. for the purchase of a new ice re- surfacer for the Roseville Skating Center /Jofin <br />Rose Minnesota OVAL to be funded from the Equipment Fund. <br />
